This post game will be quite brief since I should not go into detail of tonight’s game. It was brutal right from puck drop. Tonight began the Pack’s six game road-trip. It literally started with a bang as they were destroyed 8-1 as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins pulled out the win. Mackenzie Skapski was in net, stopping 27 of 35 shots. Taylor Beck recorded the lone Hartford goal. The group look to shake it off tomorrow.
The Penguins scored 6:27 in the game, then at 8:45, then at 19:42. The Penguins dominated in shots and had tremendous chances. 3-0 Wilkes-Barre after one. Shots were 15-9 Penguins.
The second was calmer but Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was still out playing the Pack. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton extended their lead at 5:50. Taylor Beck recorded his first Pack goal at 9:02 to make it 4-1. Michael Joly and Chris Summers recorded the assists. Then 5-1 Penguins at 14:22. After forty, the Penguins were up 5-1. Shots favored the Penguins 24-14.
The third continued the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton show as the Penguins kept rolling. It became 6-1, 7-1, then eventually 8-1. After sixty, Hartford dropped this game by a huge margin. Shots favored the Penguins 35-20.
The Penguins are a dominant American Hockey League team. They showed that tonight as they are ranked first in the league. Now compare to the Pack, they are 30th. Rough game with Mackenzie Skapski back in Hartford. The defense was nonexistent and mistakes were converted on multiple times.
The group hope to bounce back tomorrow night in Springfield when they take on the Thunderbirds. Game time is at 7:05 pm.
