Nothing new for the Wolf Pack as they dropped another game. Tonight the Providence Bruins pulled out a 3-1 victory in dominance fashion. Magnus Hellberg was great in net despite the loss as he stopped 46 of 49 shots. Taylor Beck recorded the lone tally for the Pack. Hartford now lost nine straight.
The first twenty was interesting. Despite Hartford getting out-shot 18-5 they were still in it. The Bruins in the early stages was feeling out the Pack. Nothing was going on right away. Then as the game went on, Providence began to pepper Magnus Hellberg and the Wolf Pack. Shot after shot after shot. However, Taylor Beck recorded the first tally of the game at 14:35 as it went off his skate to give Hartford a 1-0 lead. Dan Catenacci and Ty Ronning recorded the assists. The Bruins was all over the Pack afterwards. At 19:34 they tied it from a pretty play. The rest of the frame was scoreless.
The second favored Providence. Hartford was not doing much and Magnus Hellberg was facing shots nonstop. He stood tall as he prevented two on ones and breakaways. He was focused and he had no help from the defense. The Pack had little chances sprinkled in Providence’s dominant frame. Most of the play was in Hartford’s own end. At 6:45 the Bruins grabbed a 2-1 lead as a hard slap shot beat Magnus Hellberg. Shots favored the Bruins 23-8 in the second and 41-13 after two.
The third was calmer for both clubs as Providence began to protect their lead. They still had solid puck possession but they less aggressive. Periodically Hartford had chances and came close a few times, especially on the power play. Then at 8:36 the Bruins extended their lead to 3-1. The rest of the frame was scoreless. After all said and done Hartford lost 3-1. Shots favored the Bruins 49-24.
The losing streak continues. Hartford has yet to earn another home win. They currently have ten. Magnus Hellberg was solid but he had no help. Onto tomorrow night.
