The losing streak is history! Tonight the Wolf Pack pulled out a wild and thrilling 4-3 victory against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. They built themselves a 3-0 lead then Bridgeport made it an interesting third. Ty Ronning notched his first pro goal while Michael Joly recorded two tallies. Ryan Graves recorded the other Pack tally. Mackenzie Skapski earned the win in net, stopping 27 of 30 shots.
The first twenty was scoreless. It was even. Both clubs had chances. The Pack was on par with the Sound Tigers. Quiet but physical as there was quality hits. The first flew and after twenty shots favored Bridgeport 9-5.
The second began the scoring of the night. Both clubs were even. Mackenzie Skapski had a few stellar saves along with Bridgeport’s goalie. The Pack generated quality chances as well. The penalty kill was holding out well. Then at 8:49, Michael Joly had a quick shot to give Hartford a 1-0 lead. Marek Hrivik and Tommy Hughes recorded the assists. Then a short time later the Pack extended their lead to 2-0 at 13:57 as Ryan Graves completed a two on one play to get the puck past Bridgeport’s goalie. Michael Joly had a great feed while Marek Hrivik recorded the secondary tally. The rest of the frame was scoreless. The Pack had the upper advantage and continued to play well. Bridgeport had a brief surge, but it was not much. After forty, the Pack were up by two. Shots favored Bridgeport 21-15.
The third turned interesting as the Sound Tigers nearly came back from capitalizing on the Wolf Pack’s mistakes. However the early stages of the frame indicated that Hartford in a good place. At 3:45 Ty Ronning roofed a goal home to extend the lead to 3-0. Taylor Beck and Dan Catenacci recorded the assists. All was going well. Then at 9:07 Bridgeport became to surge and get back into the game. A pretty play caused Bridgeport to get on the board to make it 3-1. Then a short time later, 3-2 at 11:04. The Pack was up by one. Hartford had to buckle up. The Sound Tigers swung the momentum in their favor. They had close chances but missed plenty throughout the game. The Pack had a few as well but was unable to convert. As time was running low Bridgeport attempted to tie the game. At 15:31 Michael Joly denied the chance as he gave Hartford a two goal lead, 4-2. He had a quick release. Marek Hrivik and Nicklas Jensen recorded the assists. Then at 16:11 Bridgeport made it a one goal game, 4-3. Hartford had to lock it down on defense which they did. The Pack continued to generate opportunities and attempted to help Mackenzie Skapski. Sure enough it worked. After all said and done, the Pack wind up with a regulation home win! Shots favored Bridgeport 30-29.
The group built themselves a quality win. They had a solid lead and they defended it. They were due for a home win. Bridgeport made it interesting at the end. The young prospects stepped up which was huge. Without them, Hartford would have not had the result they intended to pull off. Congrats on the hard-fought win. Hopefully they can do it again tomorrow!
The Pack finish their three in three tomorrow evening as the Providence Bruins visit for a 5pm game.

- Ty Ronning recorded his first pro goal. This is his second game with Hartford and generated solid offensive opportunities. He had five shots on net.
- Michael Joly recorded his first multiple point game in the American Hockey League. He notched two goals and one assist for three points.
- Marek Hrivik had three assists.
- Tommy Hughes, Nicklas Jensen, Taylor Beck, Ryan Graves, and Dan Catenacci recorded one point.
- The penalty kill was effective. They killed the four penalties perfectly.
- The power play had one opportunity. It looked good but they were unable to capitalize.
