Post Season Assessment:

Dan Girardi had a tough time in the Stanley Cup finals. It was not surprising to learn that he was injured with all the turnovers and mistakes he had. Before his injury and the cup finals, he was a big help to getting the New York Rangers where they got. The fact that he is willing to constantly lay himself on the ice to stop a puck, just shows what a good defenseman he is.

Games Played: 81

Goals: 5

Assists: 19

PIM: 16

Regular Season Assessment:

Dan Girardi had a decent year. He did prove he wears the “A” on his sweater for a reason. He is willing to sacrifice his own body for his team and goalie and that shows all the heart Girardi.

Personal Reactions:

Overall, I have always been a big fan of Dan Girardi. I believe he is an important member and leader on this team. I think he is deserving of the contract he has, the only thing that worries me is his age on a six-year contract.
